Possible Causes

Failed cooling fan thermostat, Shorted overheat sensor, Stuck fan relay on control board, Wiring short in fan circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and allow the appliance to cool before accessing internal components.

  • Check fan operation: With the oven cool, restore power and observe if the fan runs immediately. If so, a stuck relay or shorted sensor is likely.
  • Locate thermostat/sensor: Access the top or rear of the oven to find the cooling fan thermostat or overheat sensor mounted on the top panel or near the flue.
  • Test sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure continuity at room temperature. A normally open thermostat that reads closed indicates a fault.
  • Inspect wiring: Check for shorts between fan wires and chassis.
  • Replace faulty parts: Replace the thermostat/overheat sensor if stuck closed. If the fan relay on the control board is welded closed, replace the control board.
