Oven door will not close fully or seal properly

Safety first: Ensure the oven is cool before working on the door.

• Inspect gasket: Check the door seal all around for tears, gaps, or hardened sections. Replace if damaged.
• Check for obstructions: Remove any trays, racks, or foil that may be preventing the door from closing.
• Examine hinges: Open the door fully and check if it sags or is misaligned. Look for bent hinge arms or loose screws.
• Hinge replacement: Remove the door (many Glem Gas doors lift off at a certain angle) and replace both hinges if worn or bent. Also inspect and adjust the hinge receivers in the cabinet.
• Test seal: After reassembly, close the door on a sheet of paper at various points. You should feel resistance when pulling the paper out, indicating a good seal.
