Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation under hob, cooling fan not running, overheated power module, faulty NTC sensor on induction coil
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the hob at the mains and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes.
- Check ventilation: Inspect the cabinet under the cooktop. Ensure that air inlets and outlets are not blocked by drawers, panels, or stored items. Follow Gorenje’s minimum clearance requirements.
- Listen for fan operation: When the hob is turned on and a zone is used, you should hear a low fan noise. If the fan never runs, the cooling fan or its control circuit may be faulty.
- Clean air paths: Remove dust and debris from ventilation grilles using a vacuum cleaner (with the appliance powered off).
- Service internal components: If E1 recurs even with good ventilation, the internal temperature sensor or power module may be defective. These parts are mounted under the glass and should be accessed and replaced only by a qualified technician.
Warning: Operating an overheated induction hob can damage the glass and electronics. Do not bypass safety sensors.
