Possible Causes

Failed NTC temperature sensor reading too low, sensor wiring shorted to chassis, stuck relay on electronic oven control, poor ventilation around built-in Gorenje oven

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely before inspection.

  • Check for blocked ventilation: Ensure the built-in oven has proper clearance as specified in the Gorenje installation manual. Remove any foil or covers blocking vents at the front or rear.
  • Inspect the temperature sensor: Access the sensor at the rear oven wall. Check that it is firmly mounted and not touching the oven cavity metal directly. A sensor bent against the wall can read incorrectly.
  • Test the sensor resistance: With the sensor disconnected and the oven cold, measure resistance with a multimeter. Compare to the expected value in your model’s tech sheet. Replace the sensor if readings are far off spec.
  • Check wiring and control board: Inspect the harness from the sensor to the control board for shorts or melted insulation. If wiring is good and the sensor is correct, the relay on the electronic oven control may be sticking closed, causing overheating. In that case, replace the control board.

Warning: Overheating can damage cabinetry and pose a fire risk. Do not continue using the oven until the cause of F2 is corrected.
