Possible Causes

Impact from heavy object, Thermal shock from cold liquid on hot glass, Improper installation causing stress, Manufacturing defect

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Immediately switch off all zones and disconnect the appliance from mains. Do not use the cooktop with cracked glass due to risk of electric shock and further breakage.

  • Prevent injury: Avoid touching loose glass fragments. Cover the surface with a thick cloth to prevent cuts.
  • Assess damage: Even hairline cracks can allow moisture to reach live parts. Replacement of the glass is required.
  • Order correct glass: Obtain the exact Gram glass top for your model, matching cut-outs and mounting points.
  • Replace glass: Remove the cooktop from the worktop, disconnect the control panel and elements from the old glass, and transfer components to the new glass following the original layout.

Warning: Do not attempt to glue or tape cracked glass as a permanent repair. This is unsafe.
