Possible Causes

Unsuitable cookware (non-magnetic or too small), Damaged induction coil, Loose coil wiring connections, Faulty power module for that zone

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the cooktop from mains before internal inspection.

  • Check cookware: Ensure the pan is induction-compatible (magnet sticks firmly to the base) and meets the minimum diameter for the zone. Try a different known-good induction pan.
  • Center the pan: Place the pan centrally on the marked cooking zone. Some Gram models are sensitive to off-center placement.
  • Inspect coil connections: Remove the cooktop and bottom cover. Locate the induction coil for the affected zone. Check that the coil leads are firmly connected to the power module terminals and that there are no burn marks.
  • Check coil continuity: Using a multimeter, measure resistance across the coil leads. An open circuit indicates a broken coil that must be replaced.
  • Replace defective parts: If the coil is damaged, replace it with the correct Gram induction coil for that zone. If the coil is fine but E4 persists, the power module may be faulty and require replacement.

Warning: Induction power modules contain high-voltage capacitors. Allow time for discharge and avoid touching tracks and heat sinks.
