Possible Causes

Defective glass NTC sensor, Sensor detached from glass, Damaged sensor wiring, Faulty UI or power module input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the glass to cool completely.

  • Access sensors: Remove the cooktop from the worktop and take off the bottom cover. Locate the small NTC sensor(s) attached to the underside of the glass near the center or near each zone.
  • Check attachment: Ensure the sensor is firmly clipped or bonded to the glass. If it has come loose, reattach using the correct Gram clip or high-temperature adhesive pad.
  • Inspect wiring: Look for broken or frayed wires from the sensor to the PCB. Repair or replace the harness as needed.
  • Measure resistance: Use a multimeter to check the NTC resistance at room temperature and compare with service data. Replace the sensor if readings are out of range or unstable.
  • Board check: If the sensor and wiring are good but E8 persists, the input circuit on the UI or power module may be defective and the board will need replacement.

Warning: Use only original-type sensors; incorrect values can disable safety protections.
