Possible Causes

Failed oven temperature sensor (shorted), Stuck relay on control board, Faulty cooling fan (for models with tangential fan), Blocked oven vents

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool completely before inspection.

  • Check vents: Ensure that the oven ventilation slots at the front and rear are not blocked by foil, panels, or cabinets.
  • Test temperature sensor: Measure the oven sensor resistance at room temperature and compare to Gram specifications. A significantly lower resistance than normal suggests a shorted sensor; replace it.
  • Inspect cooling fan: For models with a tangential cooling fan above the oven cavity, access the top panel and check if the fan spins freely. Replace the fan motor if seized or noisy.
  • Control board relays: If the oven continues heating after being switched off, a relay on the EOC may be welded closed. In this case, replace the EOC.

Warning: Overheating can damage cabinets and wiring. Do not continue using the oven until the cause is corrected.
