Possible Causes
Shorted oven sensor, Sensor wiring shorted to chassis, Moisture in sensor connector, Faulty EOC input circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Remove the oven temperature sensor from inside the cavity and inspect the wiring for damage or pinched insulation where it passes through the rear wall.
- Measure resistance: Use a multimeter to check the sensor resistance. A very low reading (near 0 Ω) indicates a shorted sensor; replace it.
- Check for shorts: With one meter lead on each sensor wire and the other on chassis ground, verify there is no continuity. If there is, repair or replace the harness.
- Replace EOC if needed: If the sensor and wiring are good but F3 persists, the EOC may be defective and require replacement.
Warning: Ensure the new sensor is routed away from sharp edges and high-heat areas not designed for wiring.
