Possible Causes
Failed tangential cooling fan, Blocked air channels, Faulty overheat thermostat, Wiring fault between fan and EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power and allow the oven to cool fully.
- Check fan operation: After cooling, restore power briefly and start a normal bake cycle. Listen for the cooling fan above the oven cavity. If it does not run, turn power off and proceed.
- Access fan: Remove the top panel of the range or built-in oven to access the tangential fan. Inspect for seized bearings, broken blades, or obstructions.
- Test fan motor: Measure resistance across the fan motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor; replace the fan assembly.
- Inspect overheat thermostat: Locate the safety thermostat on the top of the oven cavity. Test for continuity at room temperature. If open and non-resettable, replace it.
- Clean air paths: Remove dust and grease from the fan housing and vents to restore airflow.
Warning: Do not bypass safety thermostats; they protect against fire risk.
