Possible Causes
Misadjusted door latch, Faulty lock position switch, Broken latch mechanism, Wiring fault to EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and ensure the oven is cool.
- Check latch alignment: Inspect the door latch and strike for bending or misalignment. Adjust the strike plate if necessary so the latch engages smoothly.
- Manual release: If the door is stuck locked, use the manual release lever (if provided) accessible from the top or rear according to the service manual.
- Test lock switches: Access the lock assembly and test the microswitches with a multimeter while manually moving the latch. Replace the lock assembly if the switches do not change state reliably.
- Inspect wiring: Check the harness from the lock assembly to the EOC for continuity and repair any damaged wires.
Warning: Do not attempt to force the door open; this can damage hinges and glass.
