Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the burner and allow it to cool. Shut off gas supply if removing injectors.
- Clean burner: Remove burner cap and head. Clean all ports and surfaces to remove grease and debris. Ensure the underside of the cap is clean where it meets the head.
- Check gas type: Verify that the appliance is configured for your gas type (natural gas or LPG) as indicated on the rating plate. If not, a Gram conversion kit with correct injectors must be installed by a gas technician.
- Inspect injectors: With gas off, remove the burner head and visually inspect the injector (jet). Ensure it is not partially blocked. Do not enlarge the orifice.
- Air adjustment: Some models have adjustable air shutters on the burner tubes. Adjust according to the service manual to achieve a stable blue flame without lifting or yellow tips.
Warning: Incorrect combustion can produce carbon monoxide. If you cannot achieve a proper flame, stop using the appliance and call a qualified gas fitter.
