Possible Causes

Defective spark module, No mains supply to ignition circuit, Faulty ignition switch in burner knob, Broken wiring to spark module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off gas supply at the shutoff valve and disconnect the appliance from mains power before removing panels.

  • Check power: Confirm that the range or cooktop is plugged in and that the outlet has power. The igniters require electricity even on gas models.
  • Test other burners: If none of the burners click, the spark module or its power supply is suspect. If some click and others do not, the issue may be localized to a switch or electrode.
  • Inspect ignition switches: Remove the control knobs and the top panel or front fascia to access the small ignition switches on the gas valves. Check for broken or loose switch bodies and wiring. Replace any damaged switches.
  • Check spark module: Locate the spark module (usually a small box with multiple high-voltage leads). Inspect for burn marks or cracks. Ensure the input power connector is secure.
  • Replace spark module: If power is present at the module but no clicking occurs when any knob is turned, replace the spark module with the correct Gram part.

Warning: Never work on gas components with the gas supply on. After reassembly, perform a leak test on any disturbed gas connections using soapy water.
