Possible Causes
Tripped thermal cut-out, Faulty oven function selector switch, Broken wiring to elements, Failed electronic oven control relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before removing panels. Elements and wiring can be live even if not heating.
- Check thermal cut-out: Locate the safety thermostat/thermal cut-out on top of the oven cavity. Some are manual reset types with a small button; press to reset if tripped.
- Test selector switch: With the oven disconnected, remove the control panel and test the function selector switch for continuity between common and output terminals in each position. Replace if no continuity where expected.
- Inspect wiring: Check for burnt or broken wires from the selector/EOC to the heating elements. Repair with high-temperature wire and proper connectors.
- Control relay: On electronic models, listen for a relay click when starting a heating cycle. If absent and elements test good, the EOC relay may have failed and the board should be replaced.
Warning: Do not bypass thermal cut-outs; they protect against overheating and fire.
