Possible Causes
Relay on control board welded closed, Shorted temperature sensor reading high, Faulty fan control thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the control board or thermostats.
- Allow full cool-down: Ensure the oven has been off for several hours. Some models keep the fan running until a safe temperature is reached.
- Check sensor readings: Measure the oven temperature sensor resistance at room temperature. If it reads as if hot (low resistance), replace the sensor.
- Inspect fan thermostat: On mechanical models, locate the fan control thermostat and test for continuity at room temperature. It should be open when cool; replace if stuck closed.
- Control board relay: If sensors and thermostats are correct, the fan relay on the EOC may be stuck closed. Replace the EOC.
Warning: Do not disconnect the fan permanently; it is required for safe operation.
