Possible Causes
Cracked knob hubs, Grease buildup on valve stems, Bent valve shafts, Use of non-OEM knobs
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn all controls to OFF and ensure burners are cool.
- Remove knobs: Pull the knobs straight off the shafts. Do not twist excessively.
- Clean shafts: Wipe the valve stems with a degreaser and dry thoroughly to remove sticky buildup.
- Inspect knobs: Check for cracks or worn splines inside the knobs. Replace with Haier OEM knobs if damaged.
- Check valve shafts: If a shaft is bent or difficult to turn even without the knob, the gas valve or switch may need replacement by a technician.
Do not use pliers on valve shafts; this can damage the valve and cause gas leaks.
