Possible Causes
Failed touch sensor IC, Cracked glass affecting touch sensors, Moisture on control area, Loose ribbon cable to UI board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing the glass top.
- Clean and dry: Thoroughly clean and dry the touch control area. Moisture or spills can cause false touches and E7 errors.
- Inspect glass: Check for cracks or chips near the control area. Cracked glass can interfere with touch sensing and must be replaced.
- Check ribbon cable: With the glass removed, inspect and reseat the ribbon cable from the touch sensor area to the UI board.
- UI board replacement: If E7 persists and physical damage is present, replace the touch control / user interface assembly.
Do not use the cooktop with cracked glass; it is unsafe and can lead to electric shock.
