Possible Causes
Failed cooling fan motor, Blocked air intake or exhaust, Fan wiring fault, Power board not driving fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the unit to cool.
- Check airflow: Ensure there is adequate clearance under the cooktop and that vents are not blocked by cabinetry or stored items.
- Inspect fan: Access the underside and locate the cooling fan. Check for obstructions and spin the fan by hand. It should move freely.
- Test fan motor: With a multimeter, check for continuity of the fan motor. If open, replace the cooling fan motor.
- Verify voltage: During operation (only if you are qualified), check if the power board supplies voltage to the fan. If not, the power board may be faulty.
Overheating due to fan failure can damage the power electronics; address E8 promptly.
