Possible Causes

Shorted touch control membrane, Debris or moisture under glass touch panel, Damaged keypad ribbon cable, Faulty user interface board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the control panel.

  • Clean the panel: Wipe the glass or plastic touch surface with a slightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel.
  • Check for stuck keys: Gently press each key to feel for mechanical sticking. If a key feels different or does not click, the membrane may be damaged.
  • Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the back cover and locate the ribbon cable from the touchpad to the control board. Reseat it and check for cracks or corrosion.
  • Dry out moisture: If F7 appeared after a boil-over or heavy steam, leave power disconnected for several hours to allow moisture to evaporate.
  • Replace touchpad/UI: If F7 persists, replace the touch control panel or user interface board as specified for your Haier model.

Do not pry aggressively on the glass panel; it can crack and require full replacement.
