Possible Causes
Failed hot surface igniter, No gas flow to oven safety valve, Faulty oven safety valve, Broken igniter wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off gas supply and power before servicing. If you smell gas, ventilate and do not ignite flames or use switches.
- Observe igniter: Turn the oven to bake and look through the bottom panel. The hot surface igniter should glow within 30–60 seconds. If it does not glow, it is likely faulty.
- Check igniter resistance: Disconnect the igniter and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates failure. Replace with a Haier-compatible oven igniter.
- Gas valve check: If the igniter glows but the burner does not light, the igniter may be too weak to open the safety valve. Replace the igniter first; if the problem persists, test and replace the oven safety valve.
- Inspect wiring: Check for loose or damaged wires between the igniter, valve, and control.
Gas valve testing should be performed by a qualified technician due to safety risks.
