Possible Causes
Open bake heating element, Burned wire at bake element terminal, Faulty bake relay on control board, Incorrect oven mode selection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Elements can remain hot after use.
- Visual inspection: Look at the bake element (bottom of oven) for blisters, breaks, or burn marks. Any visible damage indicates failure.
- Continuity test: Remove the rear panel, disconnect the bake element wires, and test for continuity with a multimeter. An open reading means the element is bad.
- Check wiring: Inspect wires and terminals for burns or loose connections. Repair or replace as needed.
- Control board: If the element and wiring are good, the bake relay on the EOC may be faulty. Replace the oven control board if it is not sending power to the element.
After replacement, test the oven at a moderate temperature to confirm proper heating.
