Possible Causes
Spilled liquid in control knob area, Stuck or shorted spark switch on burner valve, Faulty ignition transformer/module, Moisture on ignition wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off gas supply and disconnect the range from mains power to stop the clicking.
- Dry the top: If a spill occurred, remove burner caps and knobs. Allow the cooktop to dry completely for several hours. You can use a fan to speed drying.
- Inspect spark switches: Under the knobs, check the small microswitches attached to the gas valves. Look for signs of corrosion or sticking. Lightly exercise each knob to free the switch.
- Check wiring: Inspect ignition wires for damaged insulation or arcing marks. Replace damaged wires.
- Ignition module: If clicking continues as soon as power is restored, even when all switches are dry and open, replace the Hansa ignition transformer / spark generator module.
Warning: Do not operate the range with exposed live ignition wiring. Risk of electric shock.
