Possible Causes
Burnt-out hotplate element, Failed radiant element, Faulty energy regulator (infinite switch), Loose wiring at terminal block or switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains power.
- Visual check: For solid hotplates, look for cracks or burn marks. For ceramic glass, observe if the element glows at all when turned on.
- Continuity test: Access the underside of the cooktop and test the suspect heating element for continuity. Infinite resistance indicates a failed element.
- Check regulator: Test the energy regulator / infinite switch for continuity between terminals as the knob is turned.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure all spade connectors are tight and not overheated.
- Replace faulty parts: Install a new Hansa hotplate element or radiant heating element, and/or energy regulator as required.
