Possible Causes

Drifted oven temperature sensor, Poor sensor contact with oven cavity, Faulty main control board calibration, Loose sensor connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing panels or touching wiring.

  • Verify actual temperature: Place an accurate oven thermometer in the center of the cavity. Run the oven at 180–200°C and compare the displayed temperature with the thermometer reading.
  • Inspect sensor mounting: Ensure the sensor probe is firmly attached and not pulled away from the cavity wall. A loose sensor can read incorrectly.
  • Check sensor resistance curve: With power off, measure sensor resistance at room temperature and again after gently warming the sensor (e.g., with a hair dryer). Resistance should change smoothly. Sudden jumps or no change indicate a faulty sensor.
  • Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect the sensor plug at both the sensor and the main PCB to clean contacts.
  • Replace sensor or recalibrate: If the sensor is out of spec, replace the Hansa oven temperature sensor. Some Hansa models allow minor temperature calibration via the user menu; consult the user manual to adjust ±10–20°C if readings are consistently off but no error persists.
  • Control board: If a new sensor does not resolve E3 and temperature is unstable, the main control PCB may require replacement.
