Possible Causes

Incorrect or incompatible cookware, Overheated induction coil, Faulty pan detection sensor, Blocked cooling air for induction module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the cooktop and allow it to cool. Disconnect power before removing any covers.

  • Check cookware: Use flat-bottomed, ferromagnetic cookware (a magnet should stick firmly to the base). Avoid warped or very small pans that do not cover the induction zone properly.
  • Cool-down: If E4 appears after long high-power use, allow the cooktop to cool for 15–30 minutes. Ensure ventilation slots under the worktop are not blocked by drawers or items.
  • Inspect cooling fan: From below (after removing the lower cover if accessible), check that the induction module cooling fan is clean and spins freely. Clean dust with a soft brush and vacuum.
  • Check airflow: Ensure the installation cut-out and cabinet follow Hansa's ventilation clearances. Remove any stored items that block airflow under the cooktop.
  • Module inspection: If E4 persists on one zone only, the corresponding Hansa induction coil module or its temperature sensor may be faulty and require replacement as a complete module.

Warning: Induction modules contain high-voltage capacitors. After disconnecting power, wait several minutes before touching the electronics to allow capacitors to discharge.
