Possible Causes

Shorted IGBT transistor on power board, Burnt tracks or components on induction PCB, Overheated module from blocked ventilation, Internal module failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the cooktop from mains and wait several minutes for capacitors to discharge before opening.

  • Visual inspection: Remove the cooktop from the worktop if necessary and open the bottom cover. Inspect the induction power board for burnt components, cracked solder joints, or bulging capacitors.
  • Check cooling: Clean dust from heatsinks and the cooling fan. Ensure the fan operates when the cooktop is powered (test briefly with power on, then disconnect again).
  • Zone isolation: If only one zone shows E6, identify its corresponding coil and power stage on the board. Look for localized damage.
  • Module replacement: Component-level repair of IGBTs and high-frequency circuits is not recommended for untrained users. Replace the entire Hansa induction power module or the specific zone module as supplied by Hansa.

Warning: Induction electronics carry dangerous voltages and can store charge. This repair is best left to a professional technician.
