Possible Causes

Moisture on touch panel, Faulty touch sensor PCB, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board, Electrical noise or grounding issue

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the cooktop at the breaker before removing any panels.

  • Dry the surface: Wipe the glass control area thoroughly with a dry, soft cloth. Remove any spills, condensation, or cleaning fluid residue.
  • Power reset: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes to reset the touch controller. Restore power and test.
  • Check for stuck keys: Ensure no objects (cloths, utensils) are resting on the touch area. Some Hansa models will show an error if a key is held continuously.
  • Inspect ribbon cable: If accessible from below, locate the flat ribbon cable from the touch panel to the control board. Reseat both ends carefully.
  • Panel replacement: If E7 persists and keys remain unresponsive or trigger randomly, replace the Hansa touch control panel / user interface PCB.

Warning: Do not spray cleaner directly onto the control area; apply it to a cloth first to avoid moisture ingress into the electronics.
