Possible Causes
Cooling fan failure, Blocked air intake or exhaust, Heavy use at maximum power, Faulty temperature sensor on power module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off power and allow the cooktop to cool completely.
- Ventilation check: Verify that the cabinet cut-out and ventilation openings meet Hansa's installation requirements. Remove any stored items under the cooktop that block airflow.
- Clean fan and vents: From below, inspect the cooling fan and vents. Remove dust and debris with a soft brush and vacuum.
- Test fan operation: Restore power briefly and start a low-power setting. Confirm that the cooling fan starts. If not, disconnect power and test the fan motor for continuity. Replace the Hansa induction cooling fan if faulty.
- Temperature sensor: If the fan runs but E8 appears quickly even at low power, the temperature sensor on the module may be defective. Replacement of the induction power module is usually required.
Warning: Persistent overheat errors indicate a serious cooling problem. Continued use can permanently damage the induction electronics.
