F2 error on oven display, often accompanied by overheating or failure to regulate temperature

Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool fully.

• Check door seal: Inspect the oven door gasket for damage or gaps that could affect temperature sensing. Replace if hardened or torn.
• Verify sensor and thermostat: On electronic models, test the temperature sensor as described for E1/E3. On mechanical knob-controlled Hansa ranges, test the oven thermostat for continuity and proper switching.
• Inspect relays: On PCB-controlled models, inspect the heating element relays for welded contacts or burn marks. A stuck relay can keep elements on continuously.
• Cooling system: Ensure the cooling fan (if fitted) runs during operation and that vents are not blocked.
• Replace faulty parts: Replace the oven thermostat, temperature sensor, or main control PCB depending on test results.

Warning: Do not bypass thermostats or sensors; this removes critical safety protection.
