Possible Causes

Shorted sensor element, Pinched sensor wires touching chassis, Moisture inside sensor connector, Faulty main PCB input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before testing.

  • Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. Very low resistance (near 0 Ω) indicates a shorted sensor.
  • Inspect cable routing: Follow the sensor cable and ensure it is not pinched under panels or touching sharp metal edges. Correct routing and insulate as needed.
  • Dry connectors: If there are signs of moisture, dry the connector and surrounding area thoroughly.
  • Replace sensor: Install a new Hansa oven temperature sensor if the old one is shorted.
  • PCB check: If a known-good sensor still results in F4, the main control board may have a shorted input and require replacement.
