Possible Causes
Clogged burner cap or ports, Misaligned burner cap, Faulty ignition electrode, Defective thermocouple or flame sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn all burner knobs to OFF. Ventilate the room if you smell gas. Do not use open flames to check for leaks.
- Clean and align burner: Remove the burner cap and head. Clean all gas ports with a soft brush or wooden toothpick. Ensure the cap sits flat and centered when reassembled.
- Dry moisture: If the burner was recently cleaned, moisture may prevent ignition. Dry the burner, cap, and electrode thoroughly.
- Check ignition electrode: Inspect the ceramic insulator and metal tip near the burner. If cracked or heavily soiled, clean gently or replace the Hansa ignition electrode.
- Thermocouple test: Hold the knob pressed for 10–15 seconds after ignition. If the flame still goes out, the thermocouple / flame failure device may be faulty and should be replaced.
- Gas supply: Ensure the gas valve is open and that the correct gas type and injector nozzles are installed as per Hansa specifications.
Warning: Any work on gas connections, injectors, or regulators must be performed by a licensed gas technician.
