Possible Causes

Open-circuit oven temperature sensor (NTC probe), Broken sensor wiring harness, Loose sensor connector at main PCB, Failed main control board temperature input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing internal components.

  • Locate the sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the thin metal probe (usually at the back wall, upper area). Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward.
  • Check wiring and connector: Inspect the sensor wires and plug. Ensure the connector is fully seated and wires are not cut or burnt.
  • Measure resistance: With a multimeter set to ohms, measure across the sensor terminals. A typical Hisense NTC sensor reads about 1000–1100 Ω at room temperature. If it reads OL (open) or very high resistance, replace the sensor.
  • Check harness to PCB: If the sensor tests good, trace the harness back to the main control board. Repair any damaged wiring and reseat the connector on the PCB.
  • Replace control board: If wiring and sensor are good but E1 remains, the temperature sensing circuit on the main control board is likely defective and the board should be replaced.
