Possible Causes
Defective glass-top temperature sensor (NTC) for that zone, Loose sensor connection on power module, Damaged wiring harness under glass, Failed power module sensing circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the cooktop at the breaker and wait for the glass to cool completely.
- Remove glass top: Unplug or isolate power. Remove the mounting screws and carefully lift the glass surface, supporting it to avoid cracking.
- Locate the sensor: Each zone typically has a small sensor clipped near the center of the induction coil or radiant element. Check that it is firmly clipped and not dislodged.
- Inspect wiring: Look for burnt or broken wires from the sensor to the power module. Repair with high‑temperature wire and proper connectors if damaged.
- Test sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare with service specs (commonly 50–200 kΩ for glass-top sensors). Replace if open, shorted, or far out of range.
- Check power module: If the sensor and wiring are good, the power module (induction or radiant board) for that zone may be faulty and require replacement.
