Possible Causes
Shorted induction coil, Defective IGBT or power transistor on module, Pan detection circuit fault, Incompatible or warped cookware causing unstable load
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power at the breaker. Induction modules store high voltage; discharge capacitors and only proceed if you are trained.
- Check cookware: Before opening the unit, test with a flat, ferromagnetic pan (bottom attracts a magnet) of correct size. If E5 only occurs with certain pans, replace the cookware.
- Visual inspection under glass: Remove the glass top. Inspect the induction coil for burn marks or cracked windings. Replace the coil assembly if damaged.
- Inspect power module: Look for burnt components, cracked IGBTs, or bulging capacitors on the induction power board. If any are present, replace the entire power module; board-level repair is not recommended for most users.
- Check cooling: Ensure the cooling fan runs when a zone is activated and that air passages are not blocked by dust. Clean with compressed air if needed.
- Professional service: Because of high voltages and complex electronics, E5 faults are best handled by an authorized Hisense technician if basic checks do not resolve the issue.
