Possible Causes
Defective door lock motor, Broken door lock switch, Misaligned latch mechanism, Loose wiring between lock assembly and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before working near the door lock mechanism.
- Check door movement: Ensure the oven door closes fully and the latch engages smoothly. Adjust hinges if the door is sagging.
- Inspect lock assembly: Remove the top or rear panel to access the door lock motor and switches. Look for broken plastic parts or disconnected rods.
- Test lock motor: With a multimeter, check for continuity of the lock motor coil. Replace the lock assembly if open or seized.
- Check lock switches: Test the lock position switches for continuity when the lock is manually moved to locked/unlocked positions. Replace if faulty.
- Wiring and board: Reseat connectors at the lock and control board. If all components test good, the control board may not be driving the lock correctly and should be replaced.
