Possible Causes
Clogged burner ports, Misaligned burner cap, Faulty spark igniter electrode, Defective spark module or ignition switch harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn all burner knobs to OFF. If you smell gas, ventilate the area immediately and shut off the gas supply at the valve. Do not use open flames or operate electrical switches.
- Check burner cap: Ensure the burner cap is properly seated on the base. Misalignment can prevent ignition.
- Clean burner ports: Remove the cap and use a soft brush or a wooden toothpick to clear debris from the burner holes. Do not enlarge the holes.
- Inspect igniter: The ceramic igniter tip should be clean and not cracked. Wipe gently with a dry cloth. If cracked or heavily worn, replace the igniter for that burner.
- Test spark: Turn the knob to ignite and look for a strong blue spark at the electrode. If no spark on any burner, the spark module or ignition switch harness may be faulty and should be replaced.
- Gas supply: Verify that the gas shutoff valve is fully open and that other gas appliances work normally.
