Possible Causes

Failed hot surface igniter, No gas supply to oven burner, Faulty oven safety valve, Defective oven thermostat or control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off gas and electrical power before servicing. If you smell strong gas, ventilate and contact your gas supplier.

  • Observe igniter: With the oven set to bake, look through the burner view port. If the igniter does not glow within 30–60 seconds, it may be faulty.
  • Test igniter resistance: Disconnect the igniter and measure resistance. A very high or open reading indicates a failed igniter that must be replaced with a Hisense-compatible part.
  • Check gas shutoff: Ensure the oven gas shutoff valve (if present) is open and that stovetop burners receive gas.
  • Safety valve: If the igniter glows but the burner never lights, the oven safety valve may be defective and should be replaced.
  • Control system: On electronic models, if neither igniter nor valve receive power, the main control board or thermostat may be at fault and require replacement.
