Possible Causes
Open-circuit bake element, Burnt element terminals, Loose wiring at element or control relay, Failed bake relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power before accessing the element or rear panel.
- Visual check: Inspect the lower element inside the oven for breaks, blisters, or burn marks.
- Test continuity: Remove the rear panel, disconnect one wire from the bake element, and measure resistance across the element. Infinite resistance indicates a failed element.
- Replace element: Remove mounting screws from inside the cavity, gently pull the element forward, transfer wires to the new Hotpoint-Ariston bake element, and refit.
- Check wiring and relay: If the element tests good, inspect wiring and the bake relay on the control board for burnt contacts. Replace the board if the relay is defective.
