Electric oven will not heat, display shows F01 shortly after a cooking program is selected.

Safety first: Disconnect the range from mains power by switching off the circuit breaker or unplugging it. Do not work on live circuits.

• Power reset: Turn off power for 5–10 minutes, then restore power and reselect a cooking function. If F01 returns immediately, continue below.
• Inspect control board: Remove the rear cover behind the control panel (on freestanding ranges) or the top front panel (on built-in ovens). Look for burnt spots, swollen capacitors, or melted connectors on the Hotpoint-Ariston main PCB.
• Check wiring to elements: Inspect harnesses from the board to the oven heating elements for signs of shorting or melted insulation. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
• Test elements for shorts: With power still disconnected, disconnect at least one wire from each heating element and measure resistance to chassis ground. Any element reading near 0 Ω to ground is shorted and must be replaced before fitting a new board.
• Replace control board: If the board is visibly damaged or F01 persists with good elements and wiring, replace the electronic control module with the correct Hotpoint-Ariston part number, transfer any selector knobs or mounting brackets, reconnect all harnesses, and reassemble.
