Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between touch panel and main PCB, Faulty touch control module, Liquid ingress into control panel, Damaged connector on main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power before removing the control panel.
- Power reset: Turn off power for 5 minutes, then restore. If F06 reappears immediately, proceed with inspection.
- Remove control panel: On built-in ovens, open the door and remove screws along the top edge to release the control panel. On freestanding ranges, remove rear screws securing the console.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Locate the flat ribbon cable from the touch panel to the main PCB. Carefully unplug and reinsert it, ensuring it is fully seated and not kinked.
- Check for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or liquid spills inside the control area. Dry gently with a lint-free cloth and allow several hours for complete drying before reapplying power.
- Examine for damage: Inspect the touch panel for cracks and the PCB for corrosion around connectors. If damaged, replace the Hotpoint-Ariston user interface module or main PCB as indicated.
