How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- Power cycle: Turn off power for at least 10 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge. Restore power and attempt to set the clock. If F09 returns, proceed.
- Check supply voltage: Ensure the range is connected to the correct mains voltage specified on the rating plate. Undervoltage or overvoltage can cause memory errors.
- Inspect control board: Remove the control panel and visually inspect the PCB for corrosion or moisture. Clean any light corrosion with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
- Replace control module: If F09 persists, the Hotpoint-Ariston programmer/clock module or main PCB must typically be replaced. Order the exact part for your model, transfer any wiring one connector at a time to avoid misconnection, and reassemble.
