Possible Causes
Temperature sensor out of calibration, Incorrect sensor type fitted, Loose sensor connector at control board, Faulty control board ADC (analog-to-digital converter)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate the appliance from mains power.
- Verify sensor type: Confirm that the installed NTC sensor matches the original Hotpoint-Ariston part number. Using a non-original sensor can cause F10.
- Check connections: Inspect the sensor plug at the control board for bent pins or loose fit. Reseat the connector.
- Measure resistance vs. temperature: With the sensor removed, measure its resistance at room temperature and again after gently warming it (for example, in warm water sealed in a bag). Resistance should change smoothly according to the service chart. Erratic readings indicate a faulty sensor.
- Replace sensor or board: If the sensor is out of range, replace it. If the sensor is correct and wiring is sound but F10 persists, the control board's measurement circuit is likely faulty and the board should be replaced.
