Possible Causes
Incompatible cookware (non-magnetic), Pan too small for the zone, Damaged pan detection circuit on power module, Faulty induction coil sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Normal operation testing can be done with power on; internal checks require power off.
- Verify cookware: Use a flat-bottomed, ferromagnetic pan (a magnet should stick firmly to the base). Avoid aluminum, copper, or glass.
- Pan size and position: Ensure the pan base covers the marked cooking zone and is centered. Very small pans may not be detected.
- Test other zones: Try the same pan on another induction zone. If it works there, the issue is specific to one zone.
- Internal inspection (qualified only): Disconnect power, remove the cooktop, and inspect the coil and its sensor wiring for damage. Reseat connectors.
- Module/coil replacement: If wiring is intact and F15 persists only on one zone, replace the corresponding Hotpoint-Ariston induction module or coil assembly as specified in the service manual.
