How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before lifting the cooktop.
- Clean and dry surface: Wipe the glass control area with a dry cloth to remove spills or condensation. Allow it to dry completely, then restore power.
- Power reset: Turn off power for 5 minutes, then turn back on. If F16 reappears immediately, continue.
- Inspect from below: Remove the cooktop and bottom cover to access the touch control PCB. Check the ribbon cable between the touch panel and the main electronics; reseat it carefully.
- Check for cracks: Examine the glass and touch PCB for cracks or burn marks. Any physical damage usually requires replacement.
- Replace touch module: If F16 persists, replace the Hotpoint-Ariston touch control module or complete glass-top assembly, depending on model design.
