Do not use burner: Leave the affected burner off until repaired.
Access control panel: Remove the back panel behind the control knobs.
Inspect switch: Identify the infinite switch for the affected burner. Look for signs of overheating or melting.
Replace switch: Transfer wires from the old switch to the new one terminal-by-terminal, following the wiring diagram. Ensure correct connections.
Wiring inspection: Check for shorted or melted wires between the switch and element; repair as needed.

Warning: Do not continue using the range with a burner that will not shut off properly.

Cooktop surface element stays on high and will not regulate temperature, even when knob is turned down.
