Steps to check:
- Indicator light: Note whether the surface ON indicator lights when the knob is turned. If not, suspect the switch or power feed.
- Access element: On glass cooktops, remove mounting screws and carefully lift the top to access the radiant elements.
- Continuity test: Disconnect the suspect element and test for continuity. Replace if open.
- Switch test: If the element is good, test the infinite switch for continuity between terminals as the knob is turned. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
