Possible Causes
Door lock motor jammed, bent latch, failed lock switch, control not receiving unlock signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely before attempting to unlock.
Steps to release:
- Power reset: Turn breaker OFF for 1 minute, then ON. Sometimes the control will cycle the lock motor and release the door.
- Manual unlock: Remove the rear panel and locate the door lock motor. Manually move the lock arm to the unlocked position to open the door.
- Inspect latch: Check the door latch for bending or misalignment. Replace if damaged.
- Test lock motor: With power OFF, inspect the lock motor and switches. Replace the door lock assembly if gears are stripped or switches fail continuity tests.
- Control issue: If the lock assembly is good but the control never sends a lock/unlock signal, replace the EOC.
Warning: Do not force the oven door open; this can damage hinges and the front frame.
