Safety first: Allow the oven to cool completely before working on the door.

Steps to check:

Inspect gasket: Check the door gasket around the frame for tears, gaps, or hardened sections. Replace if not sealing.
Hinge condition: Open the door fully and inspect hinges for bending or broken springs. If the door feels loose or does not stay at angles, hinges may be worn.
Remove door: Many Hotpoint doors can be removed by opening to the broil stop position and lifting off the hinges. Follow the manual for your model.
Replace hinges: Replace both hinges as a set to ensure even operation.
Check alignment: After reinstallation, verify the door closes evenly and compresses the gasket all around.

Note: Avoid slamming the oven door; this accelerates hinge wear.
