Oven light will not turn on when door is opened or when light button is pressed.

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before replacing the bulb or working on wiring.

Steps to check:

• Replace bulb: Remove the glass cover and replace the bulb with the correct type and wattage specified for your Hotpoint model.
• Door switch: Test the door switch for continuity when pressed and released. Replace if defective.
• Socket inspection: Inspect the lamp socket for corrosion or burning. Replace the socket if damaged.
• Control relay: If the bulb, switch, and socket are good, the EOC light relay may have failed. Replace the EOC if necessary.

Tip: Do not exceed the recommended bulb wattage; excessive heat can damage the socket and lens.
