Electric oven does not heat in bake mode, broil may still work

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before touching any wiring or elements.

• Inspect bake element: Look inside the oven for blisters, cracks, or breaks in the lower bake element. Any visible damage means it should be replaced.
• Test continuity: Remove the rear panel of the range to access the element terminals. Disconnect wires and measure resistance; an open circuit indicates a bad element.
• Check wiring: Inspect wires and terminals for burns or loose connections. Repair or replace damaged wiring with high-temperature wire.
• Control board: If the element and wiring are good, the bake relay on the control board may have failed and the board will need replacement.
